Sunstone Winery feels so grand.
Just outside Santa Ynez, in the warmer part of the Santa Barbara wine country, Sunstone’s grapes must deal with heat and stress—just the way the winemakers like it!
We were surprised to learn their wine production is around 8k cases annually. They have plans to step-up production, but our hope is they keep the charm and experience afforded us intact.
There is an abundance of outdoor seating for tasting, and amazing caves reserved for club members. Alicia Valenzuela, the Senior Manager for the tasting room is SO knowledgeable. The varietal they are most known for is Merlot, and their Eros blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc is absolutely delicious with big, silky, round, layered, moments from first sip to last.
