OUR UNCHANGING MISSION

Though the Mood Wine Experience continues to evolve as we enter our fourth season, our mission remains unchanged:

“We connect wine and food to wine lovers. We focus on small-lot artisanal wineries making exceptional wines that tell a story—wines you won’t find in grocery stores. We educate while we celebrate.”

Since 2011 we've hosted joyful tasting events, mostly in our Palm Springs loft, and at times in other homes, art galleries, and specialty shops.

2016-7 SEASON

The Mood Wine Experience continues, and with it, your wine education!

There are three types of events this season: the traditional Mood Wine Club, a one-time special occasion we like to call Mood Reserve, as well as Mood Flights. Each is explained below.

1. MOOD WINE CLUB

No change to the format except that we will do this on Thursday nights instead of Wednesday nights. All three Mood Wine Club events will be held at the Loft, and all three will start at 7PM: Red wine on November 17 and on May 11. White wine on April 6.

  • Red wine club (3 bottles): $120 plus tax for each wine club, $45 per person for each tasting
  • White wine club (3 bottles): $85 plus tax for the wine club, $45 per person for the tasting
  • These are special occasion wines.
  • Club limited to 24 members plus their guests. If there is more interest, we'll start a waitlist and attempt to expand it.
  • At the event you will enjoy reception wine, followed by a guided tasting of the three club wines, each paired with one of Patrick's gourmet bites, plus education about the featured wine regions.
  • Advance purchase required. If it's not sold out early, we'll close down reservations a month in advance.
  • Keep in mind that all charges are final and do not include any applicable sales tax, as well as any shipping charges you may choose to incur, if your club wine is to be shipped. If you are later unable to attend a tasting you've paid for, you may send someone else in your place.

2. MOOD RESERVE CLUB

February 4, Saturday starting at 5PM, we will host a wine dinner at dish Creative Cuisine in Palm Springs, in the chef's room. This event will be all about Bordeaux. We'll have red and white Bordeauxs, two great wines inexpensive enough to enjoy every week, followed by a big special occasion wine with dinner. If you love any of the wines, you'll be able to order some with us.

  • 145. per person, all inclusive (wine, sales tax, gratuity)
  • Club limited to 10 folks total
  • Keep in mind that all charges are final, as well as any shipping charges you may choose to incur, if your club wine is to be shipped. If you are later unable to attend a tasting you've paid for, you may send someone else in your place.

QUESTION: What does it mean to be a "member"?

ANSWER:  Mood Wine club "member" is the person buying the wine. Some members attend by themselves and do not bring guests, while other members attend with a date. Some members bring multiple guests. That is why we separate the charge for the wine from the charge for the tasting, which is always per person. We ask for purchase in advance in order to make the experience as special as possible. We will accommodate members bringing multiple guests, if purchased in advance, and if space permits.

3. MOOD FLIGHTS

We've experimented with this concept in the past. Many of you attended "rosé wine class" this year in early June. What a blast. Our dates for this season will be October 1, March 4, and June 3; all will take place at the Loft, on a Saturday 4PM-6PM. Drop in at your leisure.

  • $20 per person to attend. No obligation to buy wine.
  • We will taste a flight of 10-12 wines unified by some theme. For example, on October 1 we're going to host "Holiday Wine Class," where you learn about the best wines to serve for the holidays. We'll be in the same boat as you: tasting these wines for the first time. Together we'll decide what we like and place an order collectively in order to get the best pricing.
  • Taste at your own pace and socialize. If you need water or a bite of something, you can take a break by the cheese plate. Unlike the traditional Mood Wine club, we will not have formal gourmet bites paired with each wine.
  • The wines we taste during Mood Flights will be wines you can drink every day, with only one or two special occasion wines. As usual we're looking for great wine that tastes "above its price point," as we like to say.
  • The event will be limited to 40 people. If there is more interest, we'll start a waitlist and attempt to expand it.
  • Advance purchase suggested. If it's not sold out early, we'll close down reservations.
