CANTINA TRAMIN SAUVIGNON BLANC

PATRICK'S SCORE: 91

VALUE: Outstanding (10/10)

APPROXIMATE PRICE: $15

PAIRING: spicy Asian food... think

PATRICK'S NOTES told through Jake:

Prepare to smile involuntarily. Explosive with tropical notes, like a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc... but this guy's from the Italian Alps. It's bright, fresh, not overly acidic... very dry but seems sweet because of the papaya, mango, and pineapple flavors. A hint of orange blossom gives the wine a touch of aromatic quality. No spice. Not as grassy as New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs.

JAKE'S NOTES: Agree with Patrick. And I didn't realize that Súdtirol Alto Adige in the Italian Alps was producing Sauvignon Blanc with this character. Cantina Tramin is most proud of their Gewürztraminer, so I'd love to try that.

Palm Springs foodies, how about taking a bottle of this with you to the amazing Rooster and the Pig Asian restaurant? You won't be sorry.

Moodies: We are going to source this wine this week (August 14). It's yours for $15. I can't find it anywhere in the USA right now, so we're your only shot at it.
